Before we get into this week’s report, I would be remiss if I didn’t speak up and use this platform.
What’s happening in LA right now is fucked up. ICE is intentionally targeting communities and ripping families apart. These are just regular people, people who haven’t committed any crimes. Being undocumented is a civil offense, not a criminal one, but they are being treated like fugitives. It is cruel, it is disgusting, and it is honestly just inhumane. After I shared this video the other day, I received a slew of nasty comments including someone questioning if my parents and grandparents came here legally.
My grandparents fled Poland and Germany because they were being persecuted by the Nazis. The U.S. wouldn’t let them in so they had to turn the boat around and ended up in Argentina, one of the few countries accepting refugees at the time. My mom grew up there and eventually fled a dictatorship to come to the U.S. on a student visa. In order for her to stay, my dad married her so she could get a green card.
The U.S. immigration system is broken, the path to citizenship is intentionally unclear, and no one should have to rely on luck or love to be safe.
This country was built by immigrants. By people who crossed oceans and borders with nothing but hope and grit, seeking a better life. From the railroads to factories, from farms to cities, it was the hands of immigrants that helped shape America. At its core, this nation promised to be a refuge for the tired, the poor, and those yearning to breathe free — a place where peace and opportunity were within reach for all. But in a time of increasing walls, raids, and exclusion, we have to ask: does the American Dream still exist, and if so, who gets to claim it?
Please continue to use your voice to speak up about what’s going on and don’t turn a blind eye. Stay vigilant, share resources, and donate to mutual aid groups if you are able. And NYC, this is happening in our own city too. If you’re angry, and you should be, I urge you to remember that the Primary Election is June 24th and this is your chance to elect leadership that will make a difference in protecting our city and its citizens.
LISTENING: If you were a SoulCycle girlie in the 2010s, do I have a present for you. A new podcast called Cult of Body and Soul spills all the gritty behind-the-scenes tea on what used to be the must-go spinning class in the country. And what a cult it was. From the celebrity instructors to the Monday-at-noon booking panic to the endless merch and A-list regulars, it felt more like the hardest to get into NYC club than a fitness class. I started going during high school. My cooler than thou classmates knew about it before it blew up, so we would flock to the dingy 72nd Street studio after school and ride ourselves into euphoric darkness. Sometimes it felt better than drugs. By senior year, I was so deep in it I actually got credit for PE just by clipping in. And then eventually, I left the cult and joined the pilates one. The pod just dropped with two episodes and I cannot wait to hear the rest of this telenovela.
PROUD OF: My friend Paige DeSorbo’s new pajama brand Daphne (named after her cat!) is peak cozy girl chic. It is polished enough for brunch, comfy enough for bed, and already in my weekly rotation.
I think it is incredible how she used reality TV to launch her career, write a bestselling book, sell out a two woman show with Hannah Berner, and is now dropping a clothing line. Something I love about Paige is that we met in 2020 and even though her career has skyrocketed, she has never changed. She always replies to a text, sends me flowers when she couldn’t make the Older Hotter Wiser premiere, and has stayed the same kind, humble, genuinely nice person I met five years ago. To me, Paige is the modern day Audrey Hepburn. Effortlessly stylish, sharp, gracious, and quietly iconic in everything she does.
OBSESSED:
This bag is so good and only $100 dollars.
Khy has been killing it recently. I really love their denim (size down!) and their deliciously soft t-shirt is my new favorite
These pants are an absolute must for summer (and perfect for the airport!)
I can’t stop wearing this top & pant in gray so I got it in this fun green color. There is something so cozy yet flattering about it for laying around the house. Super lightweight for summer.
It’s amazing how much belts can elevate an outfit. I love this one I wore this past weekend at Dairy Boy polo!
If you want to feel loose without drinking or feeling too high– pour one of these in your drink.
I’ve been using this mask and I fear I’m obsessed…
I was gifted this travel pouch recently and I literally cried upon opening it.
I’m obsessed with everything Pia Mance wears, including these sunglasses.
Now when you buy my card game, you get a free claw clip with purchase. So you can put your hair up when shit gets reallllll steamy ;)
STREAMING: Sofia Coppola directed the music video for her 18-year-old daughter Romy Mars’ debut single “A Lister” and I could not love it more. Sofia is one of my idols. I have watched all her movies and she has deeply inspired me to become a writer and director. Both our dads are filmmakers so I have always identified with the pressure she must have felt to follow in his footsteps. Because same.
What I love about her directing Romy’s video is how confidently she embraces something she has always been scrutinized for. Her dad cast her in his films, and when she played Mary Corleone in Godfather 3 at 19, she was dragged by the press. But what people often forget is that for many artists, this is the family business. Theater, film, music—it is how families bond, what they talk about at the dinner table, and the traditions they pass down.
As long as you are transparent about your privilege and you show up and do the work, I do not see the issue. The Coppolas have always created together, and now Sofia is passing that on to her daughter. Romy’s dad is Thomas Mars from the band Phoenix, and she recently appeared in a small role in her grandfather Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. That is the kind of full circle creative lineage I will always root for.

I’ll be traveling next week, so no report! But keep an eye out for WWSFKD? on Tuesday!
