Between goals lists, vision boards, and resolutions, I wasn’t convinced I needed a word of the year. But then last year, I finally decided to try it.

In 2024, I chose the word “focus,” and I’m not gonna lie, it actually marked a turning point for me. At the time, I felt stuck—caught between my work as an influencer and my true passion as a writer. I knew exactly what I needed to do to create the life I wanted, but I couldn’t stop making excuses.

Choosing the word “focus” subconsciously slapped me across the face and told me to get serious. I stopped talking about what I was planning on doing (cringe) and just shut the fuck up and started doing it. I blocked out time in my calendar, RSVP’d no to events, shut out distractions, and sat down to write. And guess fucking what? It worked. “Focus” helped me turn a dream into a reality.

l’ll never forget the first night I blocked off an entire weekend just to write. No events, no distractions, just me and my laptop. By Sunday night, I had finished a section of my script that had been haunting me for months. It wasn’t perfect, but it was there- It’s not how well you write, it’s how well you rewrite. That one weekend became a domino effect, and by the end of the year, I had completed the first draft of my dream project.

But this year, I’m shifting inward. I’ve outlined the 5 steps you need to find your word below. And in 2025, my word is….
